A 27-year-old woman stabbed to death at Wembley has been named a Nottingham student after a third arrest was made in connection with her death. Tejaswini Kontham, originally from Hyderabad, India, came to the UK to pursue a master’s degree and was staying with friends in north-west London at the time of the tragic attack, according to The Indian Express.

Tejaswini Kontham cause of death

Her family, whom she supposedly visited six months ago and hoped to visit again soon, is said to be devastated. Met Police said they were called about reports of a stabbing at a property on Neeld Crescent, Wembley yesterday morning, just before 10am. Unfortunately, Ms Kontham died at the scene despite the efforts of the emergency services. A 28-year-old woman, allegedly a friend of Ms Kontham, was taken to hospital with stab wounds which were later deemed not to be life-threatening to her.

Two people, a 24-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. The man remains in custody while the woman has been released without further action. Since then, a third person, a 23-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing. He was believed to be studying for a master’s degree in Nottingham and staying with friends in London.

Police and paramedics found her and the other woman with stab wounds. A neighbor claimed that the two women attacked shared a kitchen. His death came on the same day that Barnaby Webber, 19, Grace O’Malley-Kumar, 19, and Ian Coates, 65, were killed in a knife and van attack in Midlands City.

He was found in Harrow at around 6pm yesterday, arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody at a north London police station. Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley, of the Met’s Crime Command, said: “This has been a fast-moving investigation and I would like to thank the public for sharing our request for information about this man.” He is now in custody.
