Clayton County police say a missing 16-year-old autistic boy they’ve been searching for has been spotted in North Carolina. Police said Alejandro Carranza disappeared around 10:30 a.m. at the Home Depot on Mt. Zion Road Morrow on Monday. His father told police that Carranza left Home Depot without his permission.

Ángel Carranza said that his son has disruptive mood disorder, autism and kleptomania. His son was traveling in a gold 2006 Toyota Highlander with license plate number BRZ4875.

On Wednesday, Clayton County police said they received a report of Alejandro’s car seen at an Auto Zone store in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, about 230 miles from where he left.

Alejandro Carranza went missing

Police believe he had a dead battery and jumped in the rest area at the Interstate 85 welcome center in North Carolina.
Alejandro was last seen wearing a green and black jacket and green pants. He is described as being 5 feet 8 inches tall and 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
