A mother of three was fatally shot during a shooting while driving one of her daughters to get ready for prom in the Dallas area. Ana Moreno, 39, was hit by a bullet that entered her vehicle around 4:00 p.m. m. Saturday at a mall in Pleasant Grove, Texas. Police believe two vehicles in the area were firing on each other when stray bullets flew and struck Moreno and three other men. The mother later died at the hospital from her injuries, FOX 4 reported.

“I was so excited to see her get ready for prom. She was excited about everything,’ Moreno’s daughter, Michelle Rodriguez, said. “She was so excited for us to graduate, that’s all she wanted.” It is currently unclear if the three men who were taken to the hospital were also bystanders or if they were involved in the shooting. The three men were still at hospital in critical condition and no suspects had been detained as of Sunday night.

Moreno’s family released a balloon Sunday afternoon commemorating the devoted mother of two girls and one boy. ‘It’s hard. I still can’t believe it,” said Amy Rodríguez, Moreno’s other daughter who was in the passenger seat of the car when the shots rang out.

A witness, who spoke to the local media, described the horrible scene she encountered when he saw the girl running. ‘She looked scared. She was trying to get someone to help her mom. She was scared,” witness Jacob Faz said. Faz came out with his wife and said they tried to help her mother but couldn’t do anything. ‘She wasn’t breathing. I checked the pulse,” she told FOX 4.

Michelle, who is a year younger than her sister Amy, said that her mother meant so much to them that her lives would never be the same without her. ‘She didn’t deserve it. She didn’t,” Michelle said. Amy, Michelle and the other members of her family are now coming together to honor their lost loved one and mourn her passing. “With time it’s going to get better,” Amy said through tears.

Moreno’s family has launched a GoFundMe account to help cover funeral expenses. “It is with a heavy heart that we share that Ana was suddenly taken from us due to gun violence,” the fundraiser’s description reads. ‘We want to thank everyone who has reached out to us with their condolences. We will appreciate everyone’s help in putting Ana to rest,” she continued. The fundraiser has a goal of $15,000 and has raised just over $5,000 as of Sunday.Read More……
