A convicted sex offender used a drone to peek into a woman’s bathroom, only to have it smash the device when she caught him in the act. Christopher Jones was arrested on one charge of video voyeurism. Police responded to a home Wednesday at 11 p.m. where a woman said she saw a drone peering out her bathroom window, officials in Cranston, Rhode Island said. She had just come home from work and was getting ready to use the shower, according to police.

Charges on Christopher Jones

“Her bathroom window was slightly open,” police wrote. She “Then she heard a buzz and she went out into the backyard, thinking she had something to do with her pool. Once in the backyard, she noticed a drone hovering outside her bathroom window where she was getting ready to shower.”

She approached the machine, and it moved quickly, colliding with a tree branch and falling to the ground, police said. “She quickly grabbed the drone before she took off and dunked it in her pool to disable it and called the police to report that the drone was looking through her bathroom window,” they said. Investigators claim they traced the drone to Jones, a convicted sex offender. He has not had to register since his requirement ended in 2015, police said. Jones allegedly admitted that he operated the drone.

KATV went to Jones’ Midland Drive home and spoke to a woman who identified herself as Jones’ mother. The woman said that she did not know that he had a drone. She acknowledged that the alleged victim was “probably upset,” but she said she didn’t want to talk about the case.Read More……
