A Maryland father was brutally bludgeoned to death outside his home while protecting his children from a group of teens and adults who wanted to break up a fight that started at school, according to the man’s family. Christopher Michael Wright, 43, was outside his home Friday when he was confronted by three teenagers and two adults looking for the 14-year-old son of his fiancée, who had gotten into a fight with another teenager at school. Christopher Michael Wright was beaten to death

The group attacked Wright, who was then taken to an area hospital where he died Saturday of a traumatic brain injury. Just looking at the damage that was dealt to him, it wasn’t just a punch that did that. Like, there’s no way the punches would do that. The damage was already done before the ambulance took him away. I mean, he had had a seizure. It’s done. There was nothing the hospital could do,” Karopchinsky said.

The fatal beating was caught on security camera. Karopchinsky’s three children were all at home at the time. “My dad and I try to get closer to the camera to look, and the first video that comes up is of my 12-year-old son yelling, ‘Daddy, daddy, daddy,’ and running out of the house and into the street to help someone. her dad,” Karopchinsky said. “And I couldn’t watch anymore after that. I just couldn’t.”

School officials confirmed the fight at the school and said they are now cooperating with Anne Arundel County police during their investigation, WBAL-TV reported. No charges have been filed against any of the individuals involved at this time. Karopchinsky said parents need to take responsibility for what she sees as rampant violence among teens.

“They didn’t just ruin our lives. Their lives will change forever. Their parents’ lives will be changed forever, and no one thinks about it just because of a fight,” Karopchinsky said. “It’s everywhere, and somewhere, we as parents are failing these kids as parents. It is not the responsibility of the school. It is our responsibility.”

She called Wright her best friend and said that he was a devoted father who loved the stars and gardening. A candlelight vigil has been planned in his memory, she said.Read More……
