A man in Alabama has died after being attacked by a pack of dogs. Demarcus “Sam” McKenzie, 27, was found dead in the driveway of a Skipperville home by acquaintances on July 29. He was in such bad shape that responding officers assumed he had been shot.

According to Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum, surveillance footage shows McKenzie was attacked after leaving the home and attempting to flee the dogs up the driveway. He said in the statement: “The victim began to run up the driveway when two or three other dogs joined the attack,” NewsWeek reported.
