An Orlando TV journalist Dylan Lyons and a child were shot dead Wednesday night near the crime scene where a woman was found shot to death earlier that day, in a brutal spate of violence in Pine Hills that sparked widespread shock and grief. . Orange County Sheriff John Mina said at a news conference that Spectrum News reporter 13 and the 9-year-old girl were among the four people shot. Spectrum News 13 released the names of its two journalists who were shot. Reporter Dylan Lyons, 24, a Philadelphia native and UCF graduate who previously worked in Gainesville, was killed while photojournalist Jesse Walden was critically injured.

Mina said a suspect, 19-year-old Keith Melvin Moses, was in custody, and was also a suspect in the earlier shooting of the woman. According to WFTV-Channel 9, which also had journalists at the scene who were not injured, the shooter approached the News 13 vehicle and opened fire. “The man walked past our team who were working on his car. Our team ducked,” WFTV’s Nick Papantonis tweeted. “The man then approached the other crew that was working on his car and opened fire.”


Reporters from Channel 9 rendered assistance when first responders were called. Multiple ambulances reportedly left the scene and took the victims to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
