Gary Levin A Lyft driver in South Florida went missing earlier this week after completing a roughly three-hour, 100-mile drive, his family said. The police are now trying to find the man while his children search for answers.

Gary Levin, 74, has not been heard from since Monday and his car was last seen two days later in Gainesville, Palm Beach Gardens police said. He is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. Police say his car is a red 2022 Kia Stinger with license plate number 81ABTY.

When asked if there may have been foul play, Palm Beach Gardens police told the Herald that it is an active investigation and the information is not available. Her daughter Lindsay DiBetta, 36, told the Miami Herald that something is off about her father’s disappearance. “None of it makes sense,” DiBetta said. “Not in my wildest dreams could I imagine something like this happening.”

Since he retired, Levin has worked with Lyft for the past five years and is no stranger to completing long rides, some as long as two hours, DiBetta said. But he never cut contact or drove that far. Authorities told DiBetta that Levin began a Lyft ride around 1:30 p.m. Monday in Delray Beach. After picking up the passenger, he drove to Okeechobee, completing the trip around 4:30 p.m. m. His phone turned off shortly after and hasn’t turned on since.

The next morning, he saw his car going north past Sumter County and Gainesville, he said. “There’s not going to be anybody that I go to and see that wouldn’t say he got there,” DiBetta said. “He doesn’t know anyone out there.” Police ask anyone with information to call Palm Beach Gardens police at 561-799-4445.Read More…..
