FRANCE: Gerard Depardieu, the famous French actor is now being accused of engaging in sexually inappropriate behavior by 13 women. According to the report, the victims include actresses, makeup artists, and production positions, who all testified against him. He allegedly used inappropriate words or gestures in the period between 2004 and 2022. During this time, he worked on 11 films, according to the MediaPart report.

Currently, the 74-year-old denies all the charges he faces. “Mr. Depardieu formally denies all charges that may be subject to criminal law,” said a representative for the Cabinet Temime et Associes law firm. As MediaPart conducted the investigation, they heard repeated rumors about Depardieu’s on-set behavior, which typically begins with groping, lewd sexual comments, unwanted touching and “persistent moaning noises.” It is said that most of the team members allegedly tried to ignore or tolerate Depardieu’s behavior by laughing at him, mainly saying, “Oh, okay, it’s [just] Gerard!”.

In most cases, other crew members allegedly ignored or tolerated Depardieu’s behavior, often laughing at him. The MediaPart team tried to contact 20 producers and directors involved in the related productions, but only 11 came forward. Of these, one stated, “they had not seen or heard anything and that they had not been informed of the alleged incidents.”

Fabien Onteniente, director of ‘Disco’ (2008) and ‘Turf’ (2013), said that his casting director had warned him on the set of ‘Disco’ that Depardieu was “getting heavy with the girls”. He even confronted Depardieu on the set of ‘Turf’ after hearing more such allegations. He told MediaPart: “I told him: ‘Don’t start that again, it’s over! Behave well.'”

Depardieu, has worked on more than 200 projects, and his most famous roles were in the 1990 drama ‘Cyrano de Bergerac’, 1998’s ‘The Man in the Iron Mask’ and the 1990 romantic comedy ‘Green Card’, which earned him a Golden Globe for Best Actor – Musical or Comedy, according to The Guardian.
