Ian Coates, 65, was stabbed to death early yesterday morning shortly after the same attacker fatally stabbed 19-year-old students Barnaby Webber and Grace Kumar at 4 a.m.

After stopping the white Vauxhall Vivaro van, officers used a taser to arrest the driver. Mr. Coates’ body was found by a passerby at 5:30 a.m. on Magdala Road, two miles from where the students were killed on Ilkeston Road.
