Shocking details have emerged about the death of a four-year-old boy who was allegedly murdered by his adoptive parents. Joseph Paul “Joe” Wilson and Jodi Ann Wilson were reportedly sent to the Surry County Detention Center after their arrests on January 13 on murder charges.

According to a statement from the Surry County Sheriff’s Office, “On January 6, 2023, the Surry County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Child Protective Services regarding a four-year-old boy. The four-year-old boy, Skyler Wilson, had been transported to Brenner Children’s Hospital by Surry County Emergency Medical Services after suffering a medical emergency on January 5, 2023.

However, Skyler could not be saved and was pronounced dead on January 9. A doctor who treated the boy claimed the victim suffered a brain injury due to lack of oxygen due to his parents’ restrictions, WFMY-TV reported. The search warrants also revealed that on the day of the medical emergency and before 911 was called, Jodi texted her husband and told her that Skyler was having trouble while she was wrapping her up.
