Two children who were allegedly abducted by their mother Kristi Gilley 11 months ago from their home in Missouri have been found by police at a grocery store in Florida.

Police in High Springs, 20 miles northwest of Gainesville, said they located Adrian Gilley, 12, his sister Brooke, 11, and their mother, Kristi Nicole Gilley, 36, shopping at a Winn Dixie store. on February 1 after performing a routine vehicle license check.

The two boys, whose descriptions were listed in the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s database, were in costumes, police said.

Ms. Gilley, described as the “non-custodial mother” of the children, was taken into custody on felony active kidnapping from Clay County, Missouri, police said in a statement posted on Facebook. The children have been placed with the Florida Department of Children and Family Services and will be reunited with their birth family.

According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Adrian and Brooke were reported missing in Liberty, Missouri on March 15, 2022. A felony kidnapping warrant was issued against Ms. Gilley on July 13 of last year. No further information was immediately available on what had prompted the alleged kidnapping.Read More…..
