Texas – A 13-year-old girl was shot in her sleep during a possible drive-through in north Harris County early Wednesday morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. This happened around 1am. m. in an apartment complex on Kuykendahl near FM 1960 in the Cypress Station area.
Agents said they responded to a call from a possible driver and were met by the girl’s mother, who said she had been shot. The girl was asleep in her bed when a bullet flew in through her second-story window. The 13-year-old was then rushed to a hospital by ambulance and she is expected to be fine. Investigators said the mother and her two other children were inside the apartment at the time of the shooting. No one else was injured.
“Last night, I heard them shooting near my window,” she said. “It’s very scary because I also have children… I have a 16-year-old son who walks the dogs in this area.” She said that her family plans to move soon. Another neighbor said that she plans to terminate her lease after moving here two days ago. Her U-Haul truck is still parked outside. He is also a father of young children.
“I’m worried because I don’t want anything to happen to my two girls, or my son, or anything like that,” she said. “My prayers go out to them, and I hope that their daughter is well and that she has a speedy recovery.” Now, investigators are trying to find out who pulled the trigger. Agents on the scene did not provide details on any leads they may have. No one has been arrested. The girl’s mother and her two other children were also inside the apartment during the shooting, officers said. They weren’t hurt.
The mother told investigators that she thought it was a drive-by shooting, but officers said they aren’t 100% sure that happened. “There is evidence, specifically casings collected that were in the parking lot,” Agent Ryan Hilz said. “So whether or not they were in a vehicle or on foot, that’s still being determined.”Read More…..
