A man was shot to death inside the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, last month. A 17-year-old boy and his mother were taken to jail in connection with the incident on Tuesday, January 17. The next day, December 24, five people were arrested in a raid in the nearby town of St Louis Park. Hodges stated at the time that three of the suspects were 17-year-old teenagers and two were 18-year-old adults.

Lavon Longstreet arrested with mom for Mall of America shooting

On December 29, the Hennepin County District Attorney’s Office charged Taeshawn Adams-Wright, 18, one of the detainees, with second-degree intentional manslaughter and second-degree assault. Second degree riot charges were filed against two of the 17-year-olds.

The police chief testified Tuesday that Longstreet and Adams-Wright “stood over” Hudson and “fired multiple rounds into his body.” Furthermore, Hodges stated that “over the past year and a half”, forensics had concluded that bullet casings collected at the crime scene matched casings discovered at many other crime scenes in Minneapolis and St. Paul. “I expect there will probably be more arrests as a result of this,” Hodges stated, reports CBS.

US Marshal Thomas Brown said in a statement obtained by Fox 5: “This is yet another example of guns being placed in the hands of immature youth, resulting in deadly consequences in what were once safe public places.
