A man was arrested and slapped with charges the same day police found the body of his missing girlfriend Lynnden Bray . Timothy Winterholler was arrested on Friday, July 14, after an arson case at Jefferson Memorial Forest. The 27-year-old has been pressed with a second degree arson charge.

WHAS-TV, citing arrest documents, reported that Winterholler allegedly set fire to the car of her now-deceased girlfriend, Lynnden Bray, who disappeared on Thursday, July 13, while walking her dogs. The 24-year-old’s remains were found in Jefferson Memorial Forest a day later.

A statement issued by the Louisville Metropolitan Police Department read: “According to our Missing Persons Unit. We are canceling Operation Homecoming for Mrs. Bray as of 5 p.m. m. from 7-14-23. She was located this afternoon in Jefferson Memorial Forest. She was found dead. A death investigation has been launched.

How did Lynnden Bray was died?

Police reportedly shared that Winterholler filed a missing person report for Bray. Apparently, he also claimed to have burned her car. According to the investigators’ analysis, the defendants “intentionally established with the intent to damage or destroy it.”

As previously reported, Winterholler is Bray’s boyfriend. Other than that, not much else is known about him. Currently, he has been put behind bars at Metro Corrections as he will soon be arraigned. Meanwhile, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office revealed in its findings report that Bray’s cause of death was “hanging by ligatures.” However, no connection between Bray’s death and her boyfriend has been established.

A GoFundMe has been started to help Bray’s family. The message written there reads: “My name is Wanda Wheatley. As a friend of the Bray family, I was asked to create a Go Fund Me in hopes that Kandy Bray can raise enough funds to put her 24-year-old daughter to rest. Lynnden’s death was highly unexpected and not yet determined.” He adds: “This was Kandy’s only child and Lynnden was her world. At this time, the family is unsure whether to bury or cremate. It’s just not a decision they were prepared to make for this young woman. Anything anyone can give to help with her burial or cremation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
