Maria Carolina Do Nascimento Migel was traveling in a car in Edgware, north London, at around 3:45am when the tragedy struck.

The car is understood to have collided with another vehicle. The London Ambulance Service attended but, despite her best efforts, Maria sadly died at the scene.

A man, the driver of the second car, suffered a head injury, however his condition is not serious. Two men, 29, and a 21-year-old, were arrested the same day on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision after fleeing on foot.

Then a 32-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for the same crimes. All four men have been released on bail pending further investigation. The Met Police said that before the fatal crash, officers “indicated a car to stop” in the Hendon Way area.

However, the car sped away and there was no pursuit, police say. A short time later they were informed that the same car had been involved in a collision with another car.

The force said today: “The occupants of the car who did not stop before the police fled the scene on foot.” Anyone with information, including dash cam footage, is urged to contact police.
