In connection with the double murder of Kylen Schulte and Crystal Turner, police announced that the alleged killer, Adam Pinkusiewicz, was living in a homosexual relationship. With this, investigators have also dismissed speculation that Pinkusiewicz killed the two women because he hated gay couples.

Schulte and Turner had been married last April and were traveling before their remains were discovered in August 2021 by a family friend in the La Sal Mountains near Moab.

After the initial investigation, the police declared Pinkusiewicz a person of interest. However, earlier this year, the Grand County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) ruled out the 45-year-old man as a suspect, saying in a statement:

“The Grand County Sheriff’s Office has identified Adam Pinkusiewicz as suspect in the double homicide of Kylen Schulte and Crystal Beck Turner”.

The statement also read: “Adam Pinkusiewicz was a former employee of the McDonald’s that Crystal worked for located in Moab, Utah.” But before the man was arrested or charged, he took his own life in Waterloo, Iowa, in September of last year.

At the time, the GCSO had shared that it “conducted numerous interviews and recently received information that before committing suicide, Adam Pinkusiewicz told another party that he had killed two women in Utah and provided specific details known only to investigators.”

Now, in their last update on the slayings before closing the case, investigators revealed that the “other party” was a man with whom Pinkusiewicz was in a relationship.

Fox News reported that police did not release the other man’s identity, but noted that “he was not in Utah at the time of the murders and the two had separated several months earlier. Pinkusiewicz reached out to him after the murders and traveled to Iowa to see him.”

Additionally, investigators reportedly found “extreme signs of racism” in Pinkusiewicz after analyzing his phone. Apparently, he also had anger issues and used to fantasize a lot about sexual assault and murder.

The publication stated that cops “do not believe he confronted Turner directly before the murders, but that her co-workers overheard him complaining that she was making sandwiches at the restaurant for Schulte when she wasn’t working.”

The new details have also finally put an end to the alleged link between the Gabby Petito murder and the Schulte and Turner case.
