Serabi was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital. Chicago police initially said the girl was 8 years old, but the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed that she was 9, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. Her cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of death was classified as homicide, based on autopsy results.
