Paul Cannon Wiki – Paul Cannon Biography

Lynn Cannon’s husband, a mother of two, has been jailed for at least 19 years for the “hateful” stabbing murder in Western Australia. Paul Cannon, 55, stabbed his ex-wife Lynn, 51, numerous times in their Landsdale home in Perth in December last year, killing her. The court heard how Cannon became jealous when he found out about his wife’s new relationship two years after she left him.

Cannon grabbed Mrs. Cannon by the hair and stabbed her seven times before attempting to end her own life after hours of argument. Police arrived an hour and 15 minutes after the first call for help. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Derrick considered Cannon’s guilty plea and lack of criminal record when sentencing him.

Ms. Cannon’s friends and family erupted in cheers when her killer was sentenced to life in prison. Her loved ones also called Cannon “a worm” as he was led to prison from the courtroom.

Ms. Cannon’s four sisters remembered her as a mother of two children and also called on the state government to take more action against domestic violence. “We have all failed,” they said. “The knowledge that she could have been saved so easily has greatly increased our pain and suffering. “We were still waiting to hear what took precedence over Lynn’s life that night, there is an oath to serve and protect and Lynn failed.

“It’s nice to finally close that chapter in our lives.” Earlier this week, WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch admitted Ms Cannon had failed. “There are always people in need, but this time Lynn was let down and died,” he said.
