Terese L. White, of Dallas, admitted in a plea agreement that she flew to San Diego from Dallas on Oct. 4 while off duty and then tried to board another plane with drugs on her person, according to the US Attorney’s Office. .

Prosecutors said White tried to use the “Known Crew Member” queue to board, but was instead selected for the regular passenger screening process.

According to the complaint filed against her, she set off a metal detector and a body scanner, which alerted TSA officers to her abdomen. After arriving, she left the secure area of the airport and when she returned to catch a scheduled flight to Boston, Massachusetts, White attempted to bypass regular TSA screening by using the queue of known crew members.

Despite being in her queue, she was selected for regular screening, which is when TSA officers discovered that she had hidden packages taped to her abdomen. The packages, the DOJ said, contained more than 3 pounds of fentanyl. Terese L. White

Packages containing fentanyl were found attached to her. The complaint alleges that she told police that the packets were “not what you think” and that a co-worker had given her a “mercury packet” to use for weight loss.

White pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and is scheduled for sentencing in March. Her plea agreement includes an admission that she tried to use her flight attendant status to commit the crime.

White is scheduled to be sentenced on March 24, 2023 by US District Judge Cathy Ann Bencivengo and faces up to 20 years in prison.
