A South Florida hotel clerk helped arrest a couple Maria Barrios Calero and Ricardo Flores who s**x-trafficked two girls by setting them up for “dates” with adult men, according to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office. The PBSO called the worker a hero.

“In a powerful example of community action, the bravery of a bystander hotel worker led to the rescue of two underage women from commercial sex trafficking,” a Facebook post said. “The quick intervention of the hotel employee, who noticed the young victims and alerted the authorities, played a fundamental role in his rescue.”

Deputies were called to the Lake Motor Inn in Lake Worth Beach, Florida, around 8 a.m. Sunday for a suspicious incident involving a man, a woman and two minors, according to a probable cause affidavit reviewed by Law&Crime. After detaining the man and the woman, later identified as María Barrios Calero and Ricardo Flores, the agents spoke with the two girls. One of them told the deputies that he was afraid of Barrios Calero, whom he described as “vindictive.” The girl also said she was afraid he might be deported back to his native Honduras, according to the affidavit.

Charges on Maria Barrios Calero and Ricardo Flores

She said that she met Barrios Calero y Flores in a bar about six months ago. Shortly thereafter, Barrios Calero asked the girl if she wanted to have a “car date” with a man at the bar. The man paid $400 to Barrios Calero for the victim to touch him. While he was in the car, he exposed himself to the girl and touched himself, the affidavit says.

On Aug. 5, the suspects asked the girls to submit provocative photos of themselves to post as ads on websites to attract customers, according to the affidavit. That night, Barrios Calero and Flores took the girls to a bar and made them dance with an adult man, the charging document says. The girls were later taken to a hotel where they were told to shower and have sex with other men, according to the affidavit.

The hotel receptionist entered the room and noticed both victims in bed with Flores along with a condom. “The witness stated that he called the police after observing how young the two women appeared to be and their behavior. The hotel employee consented to search the room, which resulted in the condom being placed on top of the bed,” a press release said. Barrios Calero was arrested on three counts of human trafficking of a minor, while Flores faces two counts of the same charge. They were taken to jail without incident.Read More……..
