Aiden Sagala Wiki – Aiden Sagala Biography

A man who was arrested in connection with the death of 21-year-old Aiden Sagala appeared in court in New Zealand on Thursday. The 40-year-old man, whose identity has not been released, was charged with one count of manslaughter as Sagala’s family members watched the proceedings, the New Zealand Herald reported.

Sagala tragically died after drinking a beer that he didn’t know was laced with methamphetamine. According to the victim’s older sister, Angela, her brother had gotten the drinks from a coworker and decided to open one that night.

“He was not himself. He looked like he was possessed,” she told Newshub, a New Zealand news programme. “He was kind of on the ground and he was trying to play with his nose and then he turned to me and said, ‘Sister, I’m dying.'”

She also argued for a provisional name suppression, which the judge granted.

Priest declined The Post’s request for comment. The man will return to court on June 14. If he is found guilty, he could face life in prison. News of the deadly beer first came in March when Sagala died at Auckland City Hospital five days after drinking the drug-tainted alcohol.

After his death, the police issued a public safety warning. “[Sagala’s] tragic death kicked off Operation Lavender, in which numerous serious drug charges have already been filed, and a large quantity of methamphetamine and other drugs have been recovered at an address in Manukau,” the branch’s detective inspector said. Auckland City Criminal Investigation Officer, Glenn Baldwin.

The investigation “uncovered a significant drug import, where drugs were allegedly imported in liquid form concealed in beer cans,” Baldwin continued, adding that police estimated the value of the beer to be in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Officers also made two arrests in the case after finding four pallets filled with the tainted drink.Read More…..
