Clovis Hung wiki – Clovis Hung Biography

A 12-year-old boy who wanted a challenge graduated from a California university last week, where he earned an all-time five titles. The preteen, Clovis Hung, is the youngest person to graduate from Fullerton College, the university said.

“Clovis is super curious, mature, diligent, self-disciplined and highly motivated,” Hung’s mother, Song Choi, said in a statement released by the school. “He is also very curious and the traditional public schools could not satisfy his curiosity, therefore the best option was the university.”

Fullerton offers “The Special Admissions program” which allowed Hung to take courses at the school while he completed the homeschooling curriculum taught by his mother. Hung started attending school in the fall of 2020, when he was just 9 years old, and his mother pulled him out of traditional public school, claiming that his son was highly motivated and goal-oriented.

Clovis Hung graduated in just 12 years age

Hung was initially nervous about taking college courses in person, but said he soon “instantly fell in love with college life. So, I challenged myself to take more classes.” Some of Hung’s professors were concerned that the young man would be intimidated by his classmates because of their age difference, but they were surprised at how well more traditional college students got along with Hung.

“At first, he was a little concerned about how he would relate to the other students given the differences in age and development, but those concerns were unfounded,” said Fullerton biology professor Kenneth Collins. “Clovis has been a great mix of ‘kid’ and college student. He is mature enough to be taken seriously by the other students, but boyish enough to take care of him like a younger brother and cheer him up.”

“When he had questions, he would ask them, and if they had questions, they would ask me,” Hung told KABC. “They treated me like a little brother.” Fullerton College is a public community college located in Orange County, approximately 30 miles from Los Angeles, and is part of the California Community College System.

After acclimating to college life, Hung took more classes and was eventually accepted into the Honors Program, where he was able to “thrive.” Hung, who graduated May 20 along with 900 other Fullerton graduates, received five Associate of Arts degrees in History, Social Science, Social Behavior and Self-Development, Arts and Human Expression, and Science and Mathematics.

The 12-year-old decided to attend Fullerton after Jack Rico, then 13, graduated from the school in the spring of 2020 with four associate degrees; Rico later graduated from UNLV in December 2021. Hung was elected to be an Associate Student Senator for the upcoming school year, where he will take STEM courses before beginning to apply to universities.
