Police are investigating a fight in the city center involving Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles, in which it is claimed that a gang of men “threatened to shoot” the player and his brother. Lascelles had returned to Tyneside after Newcastle’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City and was out for the night with his younger brother and a friend of his. Eddie Howe had given the team two days off. What happened to Jamaal Lascelles

It is claimed that a bottle of vodka was then thrown towards Lascelles, narrowly missing his head. A group of “six to eight” men then allegedly “attacked” the 29-year-old and “hit him from all angles.”

It is said that he managed to throw one of the men to the ground, but his brother “was punched in the face and was bleeding.” Meanwhile, his friend was “kicked in the head and knocked unconscious.” It was during the fight that the group allegedly said they were going to “shoot” Lascelles. In video seen by Mail Sport, Lascelles is leaning over one of the men in the road and appears to beg for calm as he is taken by surprise and punched in the face. He responds by throwing a punch in the same man’s direction.

Sources say the Nottingham-born star acted in self-defense throughout the incident and was trying to protect his teenage brother from him. The group of men then fled before emergency services arrived and Lascelles’ friend was taken to hospital.
