Simpson left the store and authorities later learned that he was at a house near where the shooting occurred. They surrounded the house and two women came out with their hands up, police said, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. It is not clear if Simpson knew the women or had any connection to the house. Neighbors reportedly heard officers using a megaphone to try to establish communication with Simpson throughout the night, the outlet reports. Shortly before 2 p.m. m., authorities filled the house with tear gas and forced Simpson out. After his arrest, Simpson was transported to the Crawford County Jail. Charges against him by the Gasconade County District Attorney are pending, the news release states.
