Louis Gaskin Wiki – Louis Gaskin Biography

FLORIDA: A Florida prison inmate, Louis Gaskin dubbed the ‘Ninja Killer’ for dressing all in black when beating up random couples, is reportedly to be executed next month. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a death warrant for Louis Bernard Gaskin on Monday, March 13, making it the state’s second execution this year if he is killed on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.

Gaskin, now 56, committed a series of brutal assaults on couples in December 1989, including one that resulted in the death of a husband and wife. According to the Daytona Beach News-Journal, the Ninja Killer stumbled around looking for victims on the night of December 20 while he was wearing only black clothing.

Robert and Georgette Sturmfels were reportedly relaxing in the quiet living room of his Palm Coast home when Gaskin first encountered his home, according to the News-Journal. Multiple reports claim that Gaskin, who resided in Bunnell about 20 minutes away, stood outside the home, pointed his .22 caliber rifle and began shooting. According to reports and court documents, the Ninja Killer shot Robert Sturmfels, 56, multiple times before shooting Georgett Sturmfels, 55, as he was leaving the room.

Court documents also say the killer entered the home after the bloodbath and shot each victim at point-blank range. “Ms. Sturmfels crawled into the hallway and Gaskin chased her through her home until he saw her through the door and shot her again,” the records filed in Florida Supreme Court say. “Gaskin then removed a screen, broke the window, and entered the house.” “He fired one more bullet into the head of each of the Sturmfels and covered the bodies with blankets,” the documents read.

Before leaving, Gaskin took jewelry, cash, video recorders, watches and lamps, which he loaded into his car. Commander Mark Carman of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office was a major crimes detective at the time of the murder. He worked on the case with the other three investigators. He recalled that Gaskin compared his victims’ gasps to the sounds of a dying pig. “He called it the gurgle of death,” Carman recounted.

The killer went to the residence of Joseph and Mary Rector after killing the Sturmfels. In an apparent effort to persuade the couple to leave their home, Gaskin allegedly cut off his phone line and threw objects at the roof, according to the News-Journal. The assassin fired a round at Joseph Rector as the pair exited. But they managed to get to his nearby car and flee, heading to a hospital even as Gaskin fired at his vehicle, according to reports. Joseph Rector barely survived the attack and his wife was unharmed.

An informant came forward and informed officials that he owned the rifle used in the shootings, leading to Gaskin’s capture. The man, whose sister was dating Gaskin at the time, went on to say that the killer had nearly confessed to him. The man told authorities that the killer “had saved some of that stuff to give to [his girlfriend] for Christmas” after “stealing” the presents and leaving the victims “stiff.” Gaskin was ultimately convicted of murder and attempted murder in the shootings.

Florida has a long history of capital punishment dating back to the 19th century. On October 7, 1924, Frank Johnson became the first person to be electrocuted in the state of Florida. There were no murders in the US between 1967 and 1977. Florida has executed 99 murderers since the US Supreme Court reinstated the death penalty in 1976, 44 by electrocution and 55 by lethal injection. Donald Dillbeck was the last person to be executed in February 2023, according to WPTV.Read More……
