ENGLAND: In a tragic incident, a mother and her three-year-old son were killed in a car crash in north-east Lincolnshire. Local authorities confirmed their names as Nicola Courtney 34, and Lucas Page, 3, of Scunthorpe, who were inside their disabled Ford Focus when a truck crashed into it. The incident is reported to have taken place on the A180 at 9 p.m. m. GMT on Friday, March 10.

Humberside Police said the horrific crash took place on the westbound road between Stallingborough and Brocklesby. A spokesman for the authority had made a “voluntary referral” to the Independent Office for Police Complaints (IOPC). The reference was made “after we received calls about the disabled vehicle prior to the collision,” the representative said.

Based on initial investigations, officials said the car likely broke down in an active lane on the westbound section of the dual carriageway. The force reported that a “complex investigation” was now underway to establish the full circumstances.
