TEXAS: A shooting at a northwest Dallas apartment complex on Sunday night, March 12, where a baby was found unharmed, has left four people, two men and two women, dead. According to Fox News, Sánchez was the ex-girlfriend of one of the victims. According to the report, Sánchez and the victim were involved in a custody dispute over her son. It is unclear whether or not the baby was the son who remained in the apartment after the shooting. Maldonado and Sánchez were caught around 9:30 p.m. m. on the day of the mass shooting through his vehicle, which was seen in the 2700 block of Northhaven Roadwere. They were taken to the Dallas Police Headquarters and the Dallas County Jail. Both were charged with capital murder.

After the arrest, Sánchez told the details of what happened. She told police that she and Maldonado broke into the house to rob it. However, they did not know if there was someone inside. Both suspects removed a box from a cabinet that they thought had money inside but when they opened it, it was empty. Authorities said Maldonado confessed that he shot the victims.

Police spokeswoman Kristin Lowman said, as stated by ABC13, that police officers were called to the scene after an individual checked on the apartment’s occupants but got no response. Lowman said police later discovered that explosions had been heard since 1 a.m. However, no one called 911.
