Rashad Trice Wiki – Rashad Trice Biography

Police officers in Michigan are hoping the route taken by a kidnapping suspect may provide clues to the whereabouts of the missing 2-year-old girl he allegedly had with him. Suspected kidnapper Rashad Trice, 26, is believed to have taken Wynter Cole-Smith after assaulting the girl’s mother, her ex-girlfriend, in Lansing on Sunday night. He was arrested early Monday in the town of St. Clair Shores, which is just northeast of Detroit and about 90 miles east of Lansing.

St. Clair Shores police officers said they saw Trice while he was driving and tried to flee, but he crashed into a police vehicle, injuring an officer.

But the authorities did not find Wynter. “This is the route we believe Rashad Trice may have taken with 2-year-old Wynter Smith in the car on the night of July 2,” police said in a Facebook post. (Lansing police have written his last name as Smith, but the FBI has said he is Cole-Smith.)

Officials highlighted a route that runs from I-96 in the Lansing area east to I-94 in the Detroit area. “If he drives this route tomorrow, we ask that you look out for anything unusual on the road that could lead us to Wynter,” Lansing police said. They ask people to report anything that attracts attention, “even if it seems minor or inconsequential.”

Authorities describe Wynter as a black girl, 2 feet tall, with brown eyes and weighing between 25 and 30 pounds. An AMBER Alert notice released by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children said Wynter had shoulder-length braided hair from her. She was last seen wearing a white rainbow t-shirt, according to the statement.

Authorities said Wynter was reported missing Sunday at approximately 11:30 p.m.  “Wynter, along with her 1-year-old brother, were in her apartment when her mother was assaulted by an ex-boyfriend,” the FBI said. “After the assault, Wynter’s mother fled the apartment and called law enforcement authorities.”

Her younger brother was uninjured, they said. Authorities say Trice stole a white 2013 Chevrolet Impala. This was the vehicle that crashed at St. Clair Shores. They previously said it had the license plate number EJR6098.

Police are asking the public if anyone has seen the vehicle, either driving or stopped, on the highlighted route between 11:15 p.m. on Sunday and 1 a.m. m. on Monday. Consequently, they attached an image of the vehicle model to their public statement, although this is not an image of the actual car itself. Lansing police did not name Wynter’s mother, describing her only as a 22-year-old, but she said she was in stable condition at a hospital.

Wynter’s grandmother is keeping the faith, according to Detroit Fox affiliate WJBK in a report Monday. “She’s just a wonderful person, happy and very intelligent,” she said. “I have lived in Detroit for a long time and have seen miracles happen. I’ve seen kids that we thought we wouldn’t find come back safely, so we still have faith.”Read More…….
