Russell Maranto Wiki – Russell Maranto Biography

A Colorado police officer has been fired after a camera caught him punching a woman in the face while handcuffed. Former Loveland officer Russell Maranto, 28, punched Angelia Hall, 59, in the mouth while she was being held in a hospital emergency room.

In the footage, Hall can be heard growing frustrated and angry as she sits in an exam chair as she curses and yells at the officers and nurses who were present. But it was when she spat at Maranto that he immediately reacted by hitting her. Another officer in the room intervened and pulled Maranto away from Hall.

Russell Maranto fired from job

After the hit, Hall demands to see a video of what just happened, now even more upset since she couldn’t defend herself with her hands secured behind her back. Loveland Police Chief Tim Doran issued a statement Friday explaining his reason for firing the officer, citing unnecessary use of force.

“I am sharing this video in the spirit of transparency and with a promise to hold my team and law-breaking citizens accountable for their actions,” Doran said. The chief urged the public to view the full 90-minute body camera footage of the incident, stressing the importance of viewing the episode in its entirety.

The incident was investigated by the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, but thus far the district attorney’s office has not filed any criminal charges against Maranto. The chief took swift action against Maranto, who was fired from the Loveland Police Department three days after the May 20 incident.
