A four-year-old boy and a man whose bodies were discovered in a flat were identified today when police confirmed they were treating the boy’s death as murder. Kayden Frank was found dead in his top-floor apartment in Paisley, near Glasgow, three days ago, as was a relative named Steven Frank, 38 today.

Detectives said they were investigating Kayden’s death as a murder following a postmortem examination. Mr. Frank’s death is being treated as non-suspicious. Neighbors spoke of screaming coming from the property prior to the discovery Monday night around 8 p.m. after Police Scotland received a report of concern.

Police have not released a cause of death, but a murder-suicide is suspected. A witness said he had heard shouts of ‘Help me’ before officers arrived. Kayden’s relationship with Mr. Frank has not been confirmed, and police said they have no information to suggest anyone else was involved, but investigations are still ongoing.

Forensic teams dressed in hazmat suits and police officers were in the area of the city Tuesday, with tents also erected and the top floor of the apartment cordoned off. A neighbour, who asked not to be named, told the Daily Record: “We heard screaming and screaming, as if they were domestic. We never thought about any of that.

Detective Chief Inspector Christopher Thomson, of the main investigation team, said: “Our thoughts are with Kayden’s family and friends, along with all those affected by this tragedy.” We are providing his family with specialized support at this incredibly difficult time and officers are continuing to investigate to try and get some answers for them. “Kayden’s family has requested that his privacy be respected at this time.”

The police added that a report had been sent to the Public Prosecutor.
