‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ DJ Stephen “tWitch” Boss has died at the age of 40. The DJ committed suicide, according to TMZ.
On Tuesday, December 13, Boss’s wife, Allison Holker, reportedly rushed to a Los Angeles police station because she suspected he was unusually leaving her house without her car, according to a law enforcement source. Police officers later received a call informing them of a shooting at a Los Angeles hotel. Upon arrival, the police officers found Boss dead from a gunshot wound.
The DJ’s wife, Allison, confirmed his death in a statement, saying: “It is with the greatest regret that I have to share that my husband Stephen has left us,” People reports.
“Stephen lit up every room he walked into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light meant everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.
She added: “To say she left a legacy would be an understatement, and her positive impact will continue to be felt. I’m sure not a day will go by that we don’t honor her memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for me and especially our three children.”
Holker concluded, “Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I’ll always save the last dance for you.”
Popularly called ‘tWitch’, Boss began his television career as a dancer on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’. For season 4 of the show in 2008, he was the runner-up. In season 10, he appeared as a star.
Boss came to public attention in 2014 through his regular appearance as a DJ on DeGeneres’ talk show. In 2020, he finally assumed the role of executive producer for the show. Until the end of the show in 2022, Boss worked with her.
